Lavender Lemonade

Prep time: 15 minutes

Infusion time: 45 minutes

Serves: 12

Lemonade is one of my all time favorite drinks.  When you add the lavender it brings this refreshing drink to another level.

I like to make my own simple syrup in batches and then store it for multiple uses, It’s wonderful in coffee and tea. You can double or even triple this recipe if you want to have more on hand.

This is a healthy and delicious lemonade that everyone will love! If you don’t finish it all in one sitting, you can store it in the fridge for up to 7 days.

You will need a saucepan, pitcher, juicer and fine mesh strainer

Find dried lavender that is food-grade, you can easily find this online if you don’t have the time to shop around!

Ingredients

• 1 Cup of water

• 1 Cup of sugar

• 2 Tbsp dried lavender

• 2 Cups freshly squeezed lemon juice

• 10 Cups water

• 1 Cup simple syrup

• Sugar for rim if desired

Directions

1 Start by making your simple syrup. Combine 1 cup of water and 1 cup of sugar in your saucepan. Heat over high heat, stirring until the sugar is completely dissolved. Remove from the heat and add the dried lavender. Stir well and place on low heat.  Infuse for 45 min and then taste. If you want a stronger flavor, allow it to steep for longer. When done infusing strain through your fine mesh strainer. I line mine with a paper towel to catch the smaller pieces of lavender. Place in a mason jar with a lid and store in the fridge for up to 1 month.

2 Roll your lemons out creating pressure with your hand against the cutting board. Slice your lemons and  juice into a large pitcher. Add the 10 cups of water and 1 cup of simple syrup. Stir to combine. Taste your lemonade and add more syrup if desired. You can serve this with a sugared rim, fresh lavender and a lemon garnish or just as is! I enjoy just adding lemon zest to mine.

Enjoy and stay in touch for more recipes!
